Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

Proxima Mentor is a community where mentors and mentees connect for guidance, growth, and learning. This Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour we expect from everyone using our platform (mentors, mentees, and staff) so that all participants feel safe, respected, and able to benefit from the experience.

2. Expected Behaviour

We expect all users to:

• Be respectful, inclusive, and professional in all interactions, including in messages, sessions, and feedback.
• Honour confidentiality: what is shared in mentoring sessions or private messages should not be disclosed without consent.
• Provide honest, constructive guidance (mentors) and to engage openly and in good faith (mentees).
• Respect others' time: show up for scheduled sessions or cancel with reasonable notice, and communicate clearly.
• Use the platform only for its intended purpose (mentoring and related support) and not for unsolicited commercial or personal gain outside agreed terms.

3. Unacceptable Behaviour

The following are not tolerated:

• Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or intimidation on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
• Abusive, offensive, or threatening language or behaviour in messages, during sessions, or in any platform-related communication.
• Breach of confidentiality or sharing of others' personal information without permission.
• Impersonation, fraud, or misuse of the platform (e.g. fake profiles, scam behaviour, or circumventing platform policies).
• Any conduct that would reasonably make another user feel unsafe or unable to participate in mentoring.

4. Reporting

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to us promptly. You can contact us through the platform or via the contact details provided. Reports will be treated seriously and, where appropriate, in confidence. We will not retaliate against anyone who reports in good faith.

5. Consequences

Violations may result in warnings, temporary or permanent suspension of access to the platform, or other measures we deem appropriate. We reserve the right to take action to protect our community and the integrity of the service, in line with our policies and applicable law.

6. Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all use of Proxima Mentor, including sessions booked through the platform, in-platform messaging, and any communication or conduct that is linked to your use of the service. By using the platform, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct.
